Columbia Triathlon was held on May
18, 2008 in Columbia MD. This Olympic Distance triathlon consisted
of .9 mile swim, 25 mile hilly bike, 10k hilly run. A number of
local triathletes and members of High Roads Cycles Multisport Club
participated. There were a number of podium winners, among them
Marie Dean won 3rd in her age group, Laurie Walsh was 5th
in her age group, Hedi Sieberlick was 3rd in her age
group. Heather Leggie won the overall in the open division. Nancy
Smith won her age group and the Grand Masters award, and broke a
course record held since 1993. Others who participated were Mark
Dean, Ana Leonard, Cindy Ezdon, Mike Ezdon, Mike Bizal, Barry
Casper, and Kate Ross.
